Those of you who are now reading this have decided to ingest the red pill, and are now descending into a hole of madness or sanity depending on which way you look at it.
Welcome to my mind...
You may not agree with everything I say but I do only stipulate that you respect what I write. In turn I will... Well actually I won't do anything but you can always read something else less thought provoking if you want. I can assure you I will not apologise for anything I write, even if I'm wrong!
I want to begin by asking you, are you comfortable? I mean in your skin, are you comfortable with yourself your image and the person you are?
I gaze around a room and I see lots of accessories, our iPhone's & of course it's not cool if it's not the iPhone 4. In addition to the iPhone conglomorate you have the Blackberry Bunch in your face with the same monotonous phrase "Can I have your pin?"
Here we are in the free world and we've given up our names to become pin numbers. Bright minds & intellectuals reduced to nothing more than bar codes. All in the sense of fashion, and you can cover it up by claiming its a networking tool, or whatever the latest excuses is but really the only thing that makes a Blackberry cool is the knowledge that everyone else has one. I mean there's no point pinging yourself is there?
This may sound like an attack on Blackberry users, but it's not really if you take the time to think about it. It's more about our identity, the idea that we are defined by other people's viewpoints of our own selves.
Why is it that we are hurt when someone calls us ugly, even when they look like a baboon? Why is our image of ourselves so poor that we have to cling to things like Blackberries, Porches and butt implants to make us feel normal? When these things that we cling to are abnormal things.
This is not to say not to buy things. It's important to know why your buying them. I know a lot of people who over state the fact they buy this brand name, and that brand name, and at the end of the day it does not change that they are an idiot! Or an arrogant truculent human being. It will never change the fact that they buy these brand names because people acknowledge the brand names more than they acknowledge that person's existence.
So again I ask you are you comfortable? Without your phones and your D&G jeans, the high top trainers and the common magpie disease (attraction to anything shiny.) There are things which I don't find attractive personally but that does not mean they are not beautiful things. Be yourself, be uncompromising and truthful against all pressure to conform to something you were not meant to be. You know what? Be beautifully ugly, insanely astute and dumbly ingenious but most of all be comfortable in you. You are not your pin, nor your back off or your car. Sometimes it just takes someone to let you know.
Me & The Monster will be here next week chewing over something else, I hope you will too.
Signed Sammy & The Monster
